The Floored Business
We were jointly instructed by both parties as expert forensic accountant in a divorce investigation, which involved valuaing a flooring business owned by the husband. We interviewed both spouses separately and they both made their concerns known to us.
The husband explained at length the increased competition in the carpet and flooring industry and predicted a bleak outlook for the short term. The wife on the other hand was convinced that the husband had a secret warehouse from where he was diverting sales from the main business.
